Water powered vertical saw mill in Norway
Restored saw mill in fully working condition. Located in Bjørkedalen in Norway. The waterfall turns a wheel which powers the vertical frame with the saw blade. The advancement of the log is also water powered. This kind of saw mills were introduced in Norway around year 1520 by german (hanseatic) engineers. Only five such saw mills exists in Norway today.
